At its essence, coaching centers on closing the distance between where you are now and where you’d like to be and is less concerned with how you came to be who you are (though sometimes these stories are important to the process). The foundation of how I coach focuses on three areas I believe (and have experienced) are central to our holistic well being.
Developing self-awareness clarifies your perception of your self and your strengths, weaknesses, thoughts, beliefs, motivation and emotions. It also helps you to understand other people, their perceptions of you, and your attitude toward and responses to them. With coaching, you can learn to heighten your awareness in ways that lead to new discoveries and choices in how you respond to life.
We think of resilience as the ability to rebound—and quickly. In my experience, resilience isn’t about bouncing back to where we were at all: it’s about continuous, forward movement. Building resilience requires learning new skills, deliberate focus on your core values, and structuring your time and energy around what it means for you to live life in a full and productive way.
Personal growth is an evolution, not a revolution. It requires motivation, commitment, the willingness to fail and the willingness to cut ties with people, places and things that aren’t serving your highest good. It’s an ongoing, no-size-fits-all journey rooted in the intention to understand who you are now and how to move closer to the version of yourself you’d like to be.
It Starts with a Discovery Call
During our discovery call, we’ll discuss why you’re interested in partnering with me, what you hope to get out of the experience and—most importantly— why you’re looking for coaching now. Quite often, the answer to this last question delivers the base insight we need to determine what our work together will look like.
If we decide to move forward, we’ll determine the coaching services that best meet your needs. I offer single sessions, session packages and structured programs.
We’ll begin each session with a recap of what’s changed or shifted since our last meeting—what tools or practices did and didn’t work, where you experienced ease and flow, and when (and why) other situations felt hard. We’ll examine any mental blocks, thought patterns or limiting beliefs that showed up for you and deconstruct them in order to understand, re-frame or release them.
Some of the tools and modalities available I offer include repetitive inquiry, heart-centered meditation, feelings-based decision making, oracle readings and energy healing (I am certified in Magnified Healing, Integrated Energy Therapy, Melchizedek Method and Usui Holy Fire Reiki).
At the end of each session, you’ll commit to one more actions in service to your vision. In addition to any coaching homework you’re assigned, you’re also encouraged to explore other methods or systems on your own that you’re drawn to.
Email & Phone Support
Coaching works because it’s a relationship. I want you to be mindful of what you want to accomplish and have access to a sounding board and support system between sessions. That means we’ll stay in touch between your regular sessions. You’re welcome to send updates or ask questions by email, phone or text. As your coach, I’ll read and respond to your messages, share my observations, celebrate your wins and give you a hard nudge (if needed).
Coaching is Not Therapy
Muddy Lotus Coaching does not intend to work on issues like addiction, depression, anxiety, phobias or destructive or abusive behavior patterns and encourages prospective clients who may be dealing with any of these to seek help from a licensed counselor or therapist in combination with any coaching work.
